Firenze (Florence) 2013 World Championship Bid

The planning committee for bringing the 2013 Road World Championships to Firenze (Florence) is fine-tuning its bid. The committee includes Alfredo Martini, honorary president; ex-professional Michele Bartoli; and Gabriele Sola, director general of the Worlds at Varese in 2008 and who also was the Marketing and Communications manager for the 2004 Worlds in Verona.

At the moment they are studying, and fine-tuning, the road course in the area of Fiesole where they can use a challenging climb which would create a technical and tactical course. Michele Bartoli will be responsible for testing the various possibilities for the course.

The next three editions of the world titles will be held in Mendrisio, Switzerland; Melbourne, Australia, and Copenhagen, Denmark.
